Chrysler Town and Country Repair Question :: 2006 Chrysler Town and Country  Burning oil

Author: CarBlues1
Subject: 2006 Chrysler Town and Country  Burning oilPosted: Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:12 am (GMT -8)

Engine Mechanical problem

2006 Chrysler Town and Country  6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80000 miles

Check engine light on with diagnostics reading...

Probable Cause:

#1 - Catalytic converter defective (failure possibly due to # 2, 3, or 4)

#2 - Engine misfire or running condition

  #3 - Large vacuum leak

#4 - Engine oil leakage into exhaust-valve guide seals, piston rings

Oil light comes on every 3000 miles, after checking oil, there is no oil on dip stick. No oil puddles, so oil must be burning or something else. Switched to synthetic oil to see if it made a difference, but sadly oil light came on again at around 3000 miles later with no oil on dip stick and no oil puddles on ground.

Air conditioning also stopped cooling. Hissing sound is coming from passengers side dash.

Any suggestions???
