Engine Mechanical problem

2007 Chrysler Town and Country  6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 40818 miles



I am trying to change the EGR Valve and I can not get to the bottom bolt on the valve.  I am woundering if I have to take the Alternator off or not to finish this or is there another way to get to the bottome bolt?
