Transmission problem

1998 Chrysler Town and Country  6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic



my alternator went bad while driving van started jerking and abs,,and service engine soon light came on ,,as soon as i stopped it died,,put in new alternator,,that is all good now but now van wants to stay in 2cnd gear ,reset codes but came right back on,,can the trans. computer be reset or should i replace it,,thanks for your time.
